Lean back, relax, and watch the below one-hour video from the Stanford University Medical Center. It is an excellent presentation by a surgeon and a restorative dentist on how implants work and what advantages they have versus dentures. They also address the question of costs in the US. While the video is basically a sales pitch for dental implants, it has good educational value and the two ladies presenting the subject obviously know what they are talking about. Nevertheless, after you watched it, come back here and do read about possible complications. That is one area which gets very little attention in the video but complications have to be a special concern if you consider having the procedure performed far away from home.
